David D. Dahl, Development Committee Chairman
David is a retired real estate developer. During his storied career, David developed everything from low-income housing units for H.U.D.’s Section 8 recipients, to residential condominiums for the elderly. He also constructed hotels, and restaurants in the State of California. While in California and prior to moving to Nevada, David was converting an active oil field to residential uses (a rare environmentally clean feat) when he was approached by several businessmen from Sparks, Nevada who were interested in knowing how he was able to make such conversions, and if he thought he could convert a rock pit (which in the past was known to have underground gas leaking into it) into a marina including affordable housing and a strip mall? His answer was yes, yes, and yes! And that is how we got the Sparks Marina to include the shops, housing, and condo.
